You didn’t original sign up to be in sales, yet now you are.
Or you have an idea for a product or service or own your passion business but don’t want to sell.
I can relate. I didn’t start off in sales. I consider myself a second career sales professional.
But did you know that you might be in a perfect position to differentiate yourself? You bring unique gifts and skills to the table. You have a network that no one else has. You have a fire in your belly for your product or service.
One of the reason we’re reluctant is because we think we’re imposing on people. When we approach them without confidence that we can solve a problem then yes, we can be annoying.
But when we approach them with the full confidence (tempered with humility) that we can, potentially, solve a specific problem, then we won’t be annoying.
They might even think us for swooping in and saving the day.
Don’t think of sales as doing something to people. Think of sales as serving and solving problems.
And watch that reluctance slowly fade away.
